Description

Are you African or African-Caribbean?

Do you have a family member or friend struggling with their wellbeing?

A workshop for adults registered with a Southwark GP. Join us to learn about ways to improve wellbeing, understand the role of mental health services and know-how therapy can be culturally sensitive.

Our aim is to explore issues relevant to the African & African-Caribbean community that could increase the risk of common problems such as anxiety and depression.

The Southwark Independent Advisory Group (a community group for improving services within the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust) and Talking Therapies Southwark IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) services are organising this event.

What to expect:

  • A Workshop presentation by African & African-Caribbean Therapists
  • Open discussions about mental health and therapy
  • Refreshments and networking
  • Learn about therapeutic techniques
