By attending this master class, you will be equipped with clarity about what you need to do to get ahead, and you will create the action plan that will get you there.
Session 1. Promotion to Leadership
If you have the ambition and drive to progress into a leadership position in your workplace, then this is the session for you.
This session will include a practical workshop and group coaching to help you understand how to best position yourself for a promotion.
Real life examples will be used to help you understand that the route to promotion can be unique, but it is definitely achievable.
We aim to have you leaving the session with your own tailored plan to prepare you for leadership.
Session 2 – Sharpening Your Toolbox
Doing the bare minimum is not enough to get you noticed! You have to go above and beyond to reach your goals. ‘Sharpening Your Tool Box’ simply means reinforcing the attributes and skills you already have.
From this workshop you will learn the fundamentals that are required when wanting to excel in your career. If you’re looking to get to the next level in your career, this workshop is for you.
Session 3 – Stepping Up to Stand Out
How do you stand out when there’s so many people competing for the same role?
What can you do so that people think of you when opportunities become available?
What do you need to do to raise your profile and visibility so you can step up and stand out?
If you want to take your career to the next level, this session will show you how to strategically position yourself for it through raising your profile and visibility. You will refine your personal brand, and identify the different ways of self promotion you will use in order to step up and stand out.
You will leave the session knowing what your plan of action will be
Fatimah Conteh is a Store Operations Director for one of the top 5 food retailers in the UK. She achieved a 1st class degree in Medical Physiology from the University of Leicester. Whilst at university, she was the President of the Afro-Caribbean Society and also a brand ambassador for Teach First.
Fatimah entered onto the retail graduate area manager programme straight from university. She was responsible for a multi-million pound area of 3 stores having to balance people management and KPI attainment.
She was then promoted after 3 years at the age of 24 to become a Regional Trading Director, making her the youngest and only black director within the team.
Now in her 6th year with the company she has acted as a stand-in Finance and Admin Director and is now currently a Store Operations Director responsible for 30 stores in the South East of England with 8 Area Manager direct reports, 6 assistants and personnel responsibility for 120 managers. She also holds national responsibility for Health and Safety procedures as well as driving the operational city strategy in London.
She is passionate about delivering results together with developing people for long term success.
Marie Bangura – is a HR Business Partner with responsibility for 500 employees over a number of locations. Through her work she has trained many people in developing the skills needed to up level their careers.
With her astute eye for spotting talent, her experience and knowledge, she is quickly able to discern who the right candidate for a role is, and speedily identify the skills that need developing for those who are unsuccessful.
Carol Stewart is an Executive, Career and Business Coach. Known as The Coach for High Achieving Introverted Women, she helps quiet women to be great leaders. She also provides training, workshops, webinars and talks on personal, career and leadership development to corporate women’s networks.
With over 25 years coaching and leadership experience, Carol started out in the most junior position in the organisation and progressed to a senior role with leadership responsibility for 4 business units before starting her coaching business Abounding Solutions. She also mentors women business owners in developing countries for the Cherie Blair Foundation, is a School Governor, and leads the Marketplace Ministry at ARC church.
In 2015 Carol was named one of Britain’s Top 50 Business Advisers. In 2017 and 2018 she was named a LinkedIn Top Voice UK, and in 2018 was awarded a We Are The City Rising Star Champion Award in recognition of her work.
