Join the award-winning volunteer-powered celebrations! By, for and about women/womxn and girls and everyone who cares about them. 

This year we are taking the festival online with a variety of virtual workshops, panels, local HERstory, Rebel Women's Singing, Comedy for Confidence, Laughter Yoga, Bollywood dance-along, wellbeing & self-care activities.

Festival programme summary:

Feminist Friday Night Party Online 7-11pm 5th March: Powerful poets & performances online with She Speaks UK & The Maypole & Embaa (East Midlands Black Arts Associated) & Bex Star Entertainment Productions featuring comedian Ishi Khan-Jackson, singer Donna Briscoe-Greene, poet Aoife O' Connor and more. 

Sisterhood Saturday 6th March: Artivism Exhibiting our community-made artivism in partnership with Spiral Arts & Central England Co-operative, addressing women's and girls' rights, pavement chalking & #ChooseToChallenge pics at Derby Arboretum whilst enjoying a stroll, fresh air and social distancing plus inspiring online content

Self-Care Sunday 7th March: Virtual trail via on Facebook and wellbeing workshops online including Rebel Women's Sing-Along, Creative express to de-stress session, Meditations, Mindfulness, Bollywood Dance-along, Laughter Yoga, Song Writing & more 

Official Global Celebrations: International Women's Day Monday 8th March: Courageous Conversations online panels with BSL & virtual stalls trail via on Facebook. Topics include HERstory: Anonymous was a woman with Derby Museums & Vox Feminarum uncovering the stories of lesser known local women who made a difference, Healthy Relationships with Relate Derby, Feminists v. Fascism, Intersectional Feminism, Allies: Brothers Beside Us?, Hidden Figures panel with Derby's Black Community Matters Committee and Women's Lives During The Pandemic. Thanks to Derby City Council for providing BSL Interpreters for virtual workshops. Thanks to KL Online Shopping Events for supporting us to take the festival online with a virtual trail.

Access requirements - we make efforts to design accessible inclusive events; please let us know in advance if there is anything you need to take part. Some workshops are open to all genders, some are suitable for all the family and soem are more mature themes, some are womxn-only - see each workshop description via our website for details.

Pre-bookable zoom workshops will appear on our website & eventbrite page in the lead up to the festival- most sessions are free, low priced, pay what you can, or donations appreciated to support our non-profit volunteer-run festival, with thanks.
