In England, 13 people take their lives every day: with men particularly at risk. In London around two men die by suicide each month, with many more people making suicide attempts. Difficult economic circumstances, loneliness, drugs and alcohol, self-harm, trauma and mental health issues, all play a part. The consequences of each death on families and communities are devastating and long- lasting.

This group of men want to take action and interrupt this notion.

I want you to know that the arts bring joy and enrichment to your lives and that engagement with the arts carries with it a number of additional positive impacts. As an older black male myself, this is true as I get older and wiser, with arts engagement I can help others to overcome social isolation and loneliness, maintain health and wellbeing and increase their resilience.
