Celebrating Our Black Authors

9 Authors, 9 books, 1 Book Journey Mentor

Conscious Dreams Publishing has published over 60 authors of African and Caribbean descent at a time where mainstream publishers are crying out for Black writers. These authors have always been here! Come and celebrate with them, hear about their book journeys and achievements as they rise to success.

According to the CLPE, a mere 7% of characters in children's fiction feature black or brown characters. Even more shocking, only 5% (previously 1%) of main characters in children's fiction are black or brown. This is a travesty, especially in light of the fact 39% of children in the UK are from these backgrounds.

Countless conferences state that there is a lack of Black authors, yet at Conscious Dreams Publishing, we have published over 60 authors of African and Caribbean descent over the last four years! We have published a wide range of self-development, sci-fi, adult and children's fiction, health and wellness and educational books for adults and children and we invite you to come and celebrate our Black Authors on the Rise Online.

Authors will be sharing their stories, messages, book, book journeys and successes and I'll be giving some tips to budding authors who want to publish a book.

Short clip sharing my thoughts around why representation matters and how we can make a change. For short clips and full interview visit video below.
