Description

Wood Green Futures brings individuals communities and organisations together to share ideas and encourage community involvement. With a series of interrelated round-tables, forums, panels, workshops and information sessions hosted by ACLC.

Wood Green Futures is a “next steps” approach to placemaking and community development designed to promote inclusive, peaceful, caring and enterprising neighbourhoods.

The social value impact from the intervention of Wood Green Futures provides strategic,
operational and practical benefits to all stakeholders.

 

The local community are welcome to attend any of the FREE events below. If you would like to attend any of the workshops marked with an asterisk, please register to reserve your space.

DAY 1- Tues 4th June

Catalyst Roundtable for Providers of Community Services: 11am-2pm

Rethinking Community Assets, Place-making and Improving Access for local Stakeholders

Home Office Windrush Community Surgeries 11am-3pm

After School Maths Tuition 4pm-6pm* Suitable for 5-12 years old. Math SATs Preparation. This workshop will provide opportunities for children to consolidate mathematical knowledge, skills and understanding at different levels of challenge and allow them to demonstrate their competence, application and mastery of many aspects of the mathematical content of the Maths Curriculum. Any challenges that your child may have will be identified and parents will be given ways in which they can reinforce these concepts at home and build their child’s skill set

Own Your Story & Claim Your Power (In The Workplace) Workshop 7pm-9pm:* Our stories are powerful, so it’s wise to pay attention to which ones we are telling about ourselves….This workshop  is designed to empower women to claim their storytelling power & decide which stories they want to tell and how they want to tell them.

DAY 2- Wed 5th June

Education, Safeguarding & Alternative Provision Roundtable 11am-2pm* Putting children and young people at the heart of helping to transform local communities.

Home Office Windrush Community Surgeries 11am-3pm

Parenting & Life Skills Forum 6pm-9pm: Access to support and services & parent experience feedback.

Financial Literacy Workshop* 6pm-8pm: Path To Financial Success

DAY 3 – Thurs 6th June

Mental Health & Social Prescribing Roundtable 11am-2pm:* Education, advocacy & commissioning systems. Including community wellbeing: cancer, dementia, diabetes, hyper-tension, sickle cell, lupus, prostate health and blood & organ donation.

After School Maths Tuition 4pm-6pm:* Suitable for 5-12 year old. Maths SATs Preparation.

Creative Entrepreneurs Forum 6pm-9pm:* How to start and grow your business

Faith Communities Forum 6pm-9pm: Transforming local communities. Windrush Compensation Scheme Presentation with Q&A Children & Young People, Disabilities, Elderly Care, Pastoral Care and Special Needs.

DAY 4 – Fri 7th June

Careers & Employment Skills Forum 11am-6pm: Learn 21st century skills from role models. Apprenticeships, careers advice, CV checks, mentoring, mock interviews, Q&A panels, role models, upskilling, workshops

The Cycles Of Nature Wellbeing Workshop 4pm-6pm:* This workshop comes packaged as a two fold presentation in which we explore the topics subtleties of nature within our daily lives. Within these short discourses we will delve into the meta aspects of nature’s wisdom’s and how by consciously utilising this knowledge, it can significantly promote ones emotional, mental, and physical, well-being over time.
