It’s Time We Talked
A Men’s Mental Health Event
February, 21st at 7pm. LSBU
Men are 3 times as likely to commit suicide as women. In fact, suicide is the number one cause of death for men aged 24 to 49!!
With suicide rates at an all-time high and the fact that most men do not recognise the signs and symptoms of declining mental health or feel able to effectively seek support, doing nothing is no longer an option.
The Health and Well-Being team of The 100 Black Men of London are hosting a series of events designed to provide a safe space for black men to explore the issues impacting their health, offer practical solutions and signpost services offering culturally specific support.
Hosted by Paul Lawrence author of the book ‘101 Lessons I Taught My Son’, public speaker and a founding member of the 100BMOL, this event will highlight some of the main issues that we as a community need to discuss in order to breakdown the taboos and help heal our men.
Come and join us as professionals and those affected by mental health issues discuss this important topic in a safe and sensitive manner. All are welcome.
Ladies, please note you are especially welcome at this event as often you are the first person able to spot the issues of mental health in your brothers, fathers, partners and children.
Where: Room 407-K, The Keyworth Centre, Keyworth Street. London SE1 6LN.
This session will begin at 7pm sharp.
